Listeria monocytogenes has caused serious outbreaks of foodborne illness in the past two decades. Retail establishments play a key role in the control of Listeria monocytogenes in foods they sell. The use of an effective Listeria monocytogenes control program is essential to protect both consumers and the retailer.

What does this program cover?
In this program you will learn about the sources and factors that contribute to Listeria monocytogenes in the retail environment. The training session, video and manual will also explore the design, implementation and maintenance of a Listeria monocytogenes control program. Training sessions are taught by Extension Educators and Specialists with extensive food safety training experience.
